Stay Motivated: How To Accomplish Your Goals In 3 Simple Steps
Have you been in a situation where you are highly motivated to achieve your goals at the beginning of the year, but by mid-year, you cannot remember what your goals were?
Well, I have, so many times in the past. I had a wake-up call one day when I realized five years have gone by, and I kept setting the same goals over and over again. You know what that means, no achievement, no progress, no growth. Why do you keep setting the same goals over and over again?
I went in search of the answer. I found out that the reason I abandoned my goals along the way was because of three reasons. The goals are in big junks, lack of visualization, and no support group.
Below I will share my finding and what you can do to overcome these challenges.
Break your goals into manageable bits
One reason why you abandon your goals is a lack of motivation. You get demotivated each time you look at the enormous task ahead of you. Humongous chores have an overwhelming effect on anyone.
The best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. Employ the same strategy to accomplish your goals, one step at a time.
Let’s say you have 48 articles to write in a year. Break them down to 4 in a month, and one blog a week. Schedule day one for topic research, day two research on the content, day three compare notes. By day four, your content will come alive. You have three days off from your writing, read, go out with friends, find something fun to do, and enjoy life.
You can employ this strategy for any goal that you want to achieve. It has been proved to be effective and can work for anyone.
Visualize your goals
If you can’t see your cleary and how they come together, you have no reason to work on them. Have a clear picture of your finished product, your blog. So, how do you visualize your goals/
Ask yourself why you want to have a successful blog, a successful business, or a successful career. Picture how you feel when you have your dream blog, the job, or that business. Live that feeling every day, if possible by the minute.
The feeling of an achieved goal will always keep you motivated. There is power in goal visualization. You can do this by meditation or by creating a vision board.
2.The power of a support group
What is it that you want to accomplish? Lose weight? Invest in real estate, write a successful blog, career growth, or get that diploma or degree that you have always wanted. Find a support group that is doing the same thing.
A support group will not only keep you on track, but it will also motivate you when you are down. You will get to know the challenges you are likely to face as you pursue your goals and how to overcome them. Some support groups provide a mentor or an accountability partner for support and guidance.
If you cannot find a similar support group in your locality, no need to worry. With the evolution of digital and social media, you can find support groups virtually in every digital platform online.
Check on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, among others. Joining these support groups costs you nothing but integrity and discipline. What are you waiting for? Go ahead and find yourself a support group.
